Sky Ferreira is standing up for her music and asks that you respect the creative process while doing-so.
The release of Ferreira’s Masochism, the follow-up to 2013’s Night Time, My Time, has been a protected affair since last year’s push-back due to health issues. Even though Ferreira has announced a tentative summer release date, the album’s is still in the works, which doesn’t seem to be enough to hold over her fans and social media audience.
Yesterday (March 20), the punk-rock singer defended the notion of a “delay,” saying that she never gave a release date so the record cannot be late. She also stressed the importance of her happiness and how creating should never come with boundaries.
And what’s a Twitter rant without tossing it back to the man who invented it? A re-tweet from Kanye seemed appropriate to top it off.
The excitement remains high, yet now respected. In the meantime, listen to Sky Ferreira’s latest team up with Primal Scream on “Where The Light Gets In” below.
