T’was the last day of South by and Austin was nowhere near calm—sorry locals. Rumors of Drake being in town circulated, the last party (ever) at the Illmore was going down later that night, and Cinematic Music Group’s annual Smoker’s Club showcase at SXSW was also in motion.

In routine fashion Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era collective had the place on tilt. “Pro-Era-Era, Pro-Era-Era-Eraaa,” chants and A1 music kept the energy high. And if you’ve never watch a Pro Era performance, it’s time to change that…A.S.A.P.!

As Joey thanked fans for their ongoing support, he took a trip down memory lane.

“I remember my first South by, I was South by South-Stressed,” he recalled. “Now I’m South by South-Blessed. Thank y’all!”

He then invited a slew of lucky ladies to join him on stage in order to kick off his “Teach Me” single featuring Canadian singer Kiesza. Joy and freedom filled the place.

Before closing his set, Joey introduced his special guest of the night, Denzel Curry.

“This is my motherfuckin’ brother,” shouted Curry as they exchanged daps and hugs on stage following his set.

Respective performances by Kirk Knight, CJ Fly and Nyck Caution enticed the crowd prior to Joey’s set.

CJ Fly, who’s been teasing his forthcoming FLYTRAP, reminded the audience of what was to come. (And if you don’t know—see below—now you know.)

P.S. Kirk Knight’s Late Knight Special is now available for purchase on iTunes.
