Yuna & DJ Premier, “Places To Go”

Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna is setting the tone for her forthcoming album. After recently sharing her love-fest duet “Crush” featuring Usher, she’s back with her sights on the world in her new music video. The DJ Premier-produced single, “Places To Go,” reflects on the memories of the singer’s past in the intimate black-and-white visual.

“When I was younger I would go to the airport with my friends and drive out 2 a.m., 3 a.m. in the morning and just hang out until sunrise watching planes fly in and fly out,” she says in the preface of the clip. “Just sit there and dream about how one day that’s going to be us in those flights. We’re gonna be one of those people with places to go.”

“Places To Go” will be included on Yuna’s upcoming third album Chapters, due May 20 ahead of her 15-date tour starting April 29 in Washington, D.C. For ticket info click, here.

Vanessa Elisha & XXYYXX, “Out Of Time”

Australian songstress Vanessa Elisha finally drops the visual for her XXYYXX-produced single “Out Of Time.” The minimal Matt Earl-directed clip, utilizes intricate lighting flares and faded symmetry projections for a clean and mysterious video debut. Paired to the bass-heavy R&B track, Elisha confines her emotions in an abstract prism, capturing the essence of running against time and love. Watch the video above, as it’s only a matter of time before the Aussie beau releases her debut project.

Anna Wise, “BitchSlut”

You know that jazzy, slightly nasally voice giving a “shout out to the birthday girls” on Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning “These Walls?” Well, that female vocalist goes by the name of Anna Wise. And now she’s stopping off Lamar’s acclaimed music box to produce music back in her own spotlight.

Dropping the new single “BitchSlut,” the woozy hip-pop track now comes with a quirky deflective video. “I know what kind you are,” she vocally spins on the chorus. “If I say no, I’m a bitch/ Say yes I’m slut.” Regarding the record as part of a theme for her upcoming EP material, she tells SPIN, “There is a theme, and the theme is ‘women.’ Women are great. We’re fucking great, and I want to talk about us. And talk about myself, because I’m a woman. I guess it’s kind of selfish. ‘Let’s talk about me!’”
