With the amount of new talent booming out of the state, from Zoey Dollaz to Steph Lecor and Kodak Black, it’s safe to say that Florida is making some noise in rap.

Among the new leaders coming out of the Sunshine State is rapper Tom G, who hails from Tampa. “You really can’t put me in a box,” the rapper tells REVOLT about his skills and the reason why he amassed some major buzz out of his city these last few years. Inspired by local legends like Trick Daddy and JT Money, Tom is a poet at heart with an ear for music.

“I rap that reality music and substance with the sound of what’s going on right now and some of the sound that was going on in the era before us,” he says. “I’m all over the place with it.”
