The word ‘unfiltered’ comes to mind when discussing Young Thug, a man who’s as raw as it comes in the booth (“I shoot at the reverend,” he raps on “About the Money”) and beyond. Another keyword happens to be “elusive,” because, well, the guy hardly does any interviews. So when he popped up on the Sway in the Morning radio show yesterday (January 25), many fans were taken by surprise.
Making a rare appearance on the morning program, Thugger kept it 12:30 — or in other words, straight up — on everything from his peculiar fashion sense to the many controversies that he’s been glued to.
Things fired up when Plies, who engaged in a social media back-and-forth with Thug regarding a video posted of the latter’s daughter, was mentioned. As far as his thoughts on the Florida rapper, Thug said, “I’m gonna slap the shit out of him.”
The tone was much more lighthearted when asked about Game however, as the “Best Friend” rapper downplayed his past beef with the Compton MC. “I’ll make a million songs with Game because we never really had a real problem,” he shared. “He thought me and Wayne had something going on, we never had nothing going on, but he thought we had something going on. So, he felt like that was his friend.”
Thug also did more downplaying when asked about his relationship with Lil Wayne, who he often refers to as his rap idol. Denying the rumors that he was involved in the infamous 2015 tour bus shooting in Atlanta, Thug also made sure to shower his rap hero some praise, saying, “He can say whatever he wants, I will never beef with that man.”
With plenty many more unfiltered thoughts to mention, we’ll leave you here and toss it over to Thugger’s must-see interview with Sway in the Morning below.
