Production on the long-in-the-works Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez On Me” has been underway in Atlanta for the past month. After three directors, two lawsuits and some bad press, the long-awaited film looks like it’s finally going to see the light of day.

If the addition of Benny Boom in the director’s chair wasn’t enough proof, or the daily info that reels out of the Instagram page of L.T. Hutton, a music producer and former A&R at Ruthless Records and Interscope, then it’s the ever-growing casting announcements.

Just last month, newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr., who bears a striking resemblance to the “All Eyez On Me” rapper, was casted in the lead role of Shakur. Days later, “top choice” Jamal Woolard, who starred in 2009’s “Notorious,” joined the team to reprise his role of The Notorious B.I.G.. Since then, several additions have been made into the anticipated biopic, including the roles of Afeni Shakur, Jada Pinkett Smith, Suge Knight, Mutulu Shakur, and most recently Lelia Steinberg.

James G. Robinson and David Robinson will be producing the film for Morgan Creek, alongside Program Pictures’ LT Hutton. Afeni Shakur is executive producer. Benny Boom will serve as director.
