The Red Hot Chili Peppers are busy preparing their 12th studio album, but took a night off on Saturday (Oct. 17) to perform their benefit for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.
The 300-seat event, which also included performances by John Legend and jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, was highlighted by the Chili Peppers’ acoustic cover of fellow rock legend Jimi Hendrix’s track “Fire.”
Legend, meanwhile, performed a cover of his own, offering up his take on the Bruce Springsteen classic “Dancing In The Dark.”
