The Internet is a band of the times. So far in 2015, they dropped a critically-adored album Ego Death, toured with bass visionary Thundercat, and now they’ve arrived for an intimate set on NPR’s series Tiny Desk Concert. The West Coast five-piece crammed in the office space for an acoustic sit-down performance to “Get Away,” “Under Control” and their lead chillwave single “Dontcha.”

Led by lead frontwoman Syd Tha Kyd and her right-hand band producer/director Matt Martians, the future funk group enveloped in a swing of textured R&B beats and millennium synths, for an adulterated jam session. It was a stripped-bare introduction to their sophomore effort, if you haven’t heard it, and a personal lens to their sprawling experimental soundwave.
