Tracy Morgan made a triumphant return to television this past weekend at the Emmys, where he closed out the night by presenting the award for Outstanding Drama Series. Now, days after the big moment, word is starting to spread about the actor-comedian’s next step, which hopefully involves the sliver screen.
Initially reported by The Wrap, with confirmation from Entertainment Weekly, Morgan is in talks to star alongside Ice Cube and Charlie Day in the film, “Fist Fight.” Morgan’s potential involvement would be his first since recovering from a car crash in June 2014.
Written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux, the comedic film focus will center on Day as a schoolteacher who gets challenged to a fight by his co-worker, who is played by Ice Cube. Morgan is reportedly in talks to play the school’s coach in the film.
Morgan is also set to return to SNL as host next month.
