Azealia Banks, the Harlem rapper known more for her unfiltered rants than her music, has made her way back in the center of attention as a notably trending Twitter topic.

After a video surfaced of her yelling a homophobic slur while exiting a recent flight, Banks defended, rather than apologizing for, the profane claims. Banks is now going head-to-head with the GLAAD organization, which we all know is a battle you don’t want against you.

Although a handful of fans have come to her defense, the derogatory words she decided to throw at the Delta attendant, which she claims violated her space and belongings, have put her account temporarily under investigation. After briefly going private and losing verification, Banks’ Twitter account is now public and active.

At this point, it really has nothing to do with the accusations or Twitter or any of her followers. It comes down to the fact that this is not the first time Banks has publicly used the homophobic f-word, while she insists that she identifies as bisexual. It’s one thing to be outspoken in your opinions, but lashing out at a swathe of artists, activists, and bystanders really has no room for explanation.
