FKA twigs owns the stage.

Whether she’s hypnotizing an audience with her contortionist choreography or cryptically lulling them with her whisper melodies, a Twigs set is always a turn for the unexpected. During a recent visit to the BBC’s Live Lounge, the experimental singer opted to cover Sia’s recent hit single “Elastic Heart.”

As both FKA twigs and Sia seem to find the ideal balance between ideas of pop stardom and femininity, it was no surprise twigs subtly made it her own. Reworking the song with her band’s percolating take on the record, the aesthetic and production coalesced into a beautiful array of imagery, complete with original choreography and a backup dancer. It went beyond what most artists bring to the lounge, and as always – it was an effortless curl of twigs’ bewitching artistry.
