If you asked us, the Song of the Summer battle was going to be Diplo (via Major Lazer’s “Lean On”) vs. Diplo (via Jack Ü’s “Where Are U Now”). Turns out, at least according to Billboard, the real battle was Wiz Khalifa vs. OMI, and the winner was the upstart whose “Cheerleader” track captured the breezy summertime vibes.
The record bested Wiz’s “See You Again” and led the Industry Bible’s Songs of the Summer chart despite the Pittsburgh rapper reigning for 13 of the chart’s first 15 weeks.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Silento’s “Watch Me.”
