On Saturday (July 18), while speaking on the “The Mo’Kelly Show,” Roger Stone found himself in hot water after he used a racial slur.

During the show, Mr. O’Kelly asked Stone about his relationship with President Donald Trump, who played a role in ending his sentence. “There are thousands of people treated unfairly daily, how your number just happened to come up in the lottery, I am guessing it was more than just luck, Roger, right?” O’Kelly asked.

Following the question, Stone could be heard saying “arguing with this Negro.” At the time, it sounded as if he was not talking to O’Kelly, but rather someone in his environment.

Although Stone was clearly heard using the racial slur, he denied the fact after he was asked to repeat what he said. “I did not, you’re out of your mind,” Mr. Stone told the host.

After finishing up his interview with Stone, O’Kelly explained to his listeners why he decided to continue with the conversation. He reasoned that it was his job “to keep him talking for your benefit, as the audience, and my benefit to have that conversation.”

He added, “The only thing that I felt was true, honest and sincere that Roger Stone said was in that moment that he thought I was not listening. All of my professional accolades, all my professional bona fides went out the window because as far as he was concerned, he was talking and arguing with a Negro.”

During an interview with The New York Times the very same day, O’Kelly said that Stone’s use of the racial slur was “clear, it was discernible, and it was unmistakable.” He also added he is disappointed that the degrading term is still being used to this day.
