The funeral and memorial services for George Floyd have been announced. Earlier this week, it was reported that the Floyd family was going to have multiple memorial services in Texas, Minnesota and North Carolina. New details have emerged about those services.

According to ABC News, the first memorial service will take place Jun. 4 in Minneapolis at North Central University’s Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary. Reverend Al Sharpton will deliver a “national eulogy” and Ben Crump, the family’s attorney, will give a “national criminal justice address.” The service is set to begin at 1 pm local time.

The next memorial service will take place on Jun. 6 in Raeford, North Carolina at the Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters. A public viewing will be held from 11 am to 1 pm ET and the memorial service will begin at 3 pm ET.

The third memorial service will be held on Jun. 8. A public visitation will take place at The Fountain of Praise on Hillcroft Avenue from 12 pm to 6 pm central time. On Jun. 9, the family will hold a private funeral service at the same location at 11 am central time.

Yesterday (June 1), TMZ Sports confirmed that Floyd Mayweather stepped up to cover the funeral expenses for the family. He reportedly felt that it was only right to help after his friend Anzel Jennings, CEO of TMT music label, revealed that she grew up with Floyd.

On May 25, Floyd was killed at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers. Video footage showed former officer Derek Chauvin with his knee planted onto Floyd’s neck as he called out multiple times that he could not breathe. He kept his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd became unconscious and later died at the hospital. All four officers have been fired and Chauvin was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
