Trey Songz has announced that he will be hosting a three-day Black Lives Matter event series in Petersburg and Richmond, Virginia during Father’s Day weekend.

“About a week ago, I accepted the #FeedYourCityChallenge from my dawg @kingpush and in celebration of Juneteenth as well as Father’s Day weekend, we decided to turn it up a notch,” the “Can’t Help But Wait” singer wrote on Instagram. “I’m excited and inviting everyone to come out in the name of unity, justice and giving back. Special thanks to @therickydavislegacyfoundation #tonydraper and my bro @mu.daddy for putting this together so quickly. #BLACKLIVESMATTER.”

The events kicks off on Friday (June 19) with a candlelight vigil at the Robert E. Lee statue in Richmond. On Saturday (June 20), Songz will host the “Feed Your City Challenge” in his hometown of Petersburg. The eventful weekend will wrap up on Sunday (June 21) with a Father’s Day Black Lives Matter bike ride at Bryan Park in Richmond.

According to NBC 12, the “Feed Your City” event will also provide groceries and personal protective equipment to the residents through no-contact drive-thrus. Deputy Chief of Police Travis Christian and Mayor of Petersburg Samuel Parham will be in attendance and work alongside Songz.

The Trey Day singer recently released “Riots 2020: How Many Times,” an anthem for the protests that have been taking place across the country in response to the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery.

“With the words in this song, I just wanted to speak to everyone’s hearts and acknowledge the pain and anguish everyone is going through right now,” he said during an Instagram Live chat with DJ D-Nice. “I know this ain’t usually my message and you’re not used to hearing this from me, but this is the person I’ve always been.”
