Currently, Canadian duo and OVO Sound’s own dvsn is getting ready to release their third studio album and official follow-up to 2017’s Morning After. Over the weekend, they decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by liberating a sultry new music video for their single “A Muse,” which is produced by Nineteen85 and Alan Ritter and samples Lonnie Liston Smith‘s “A Garden of Peace” – the same sample that legendary producer Ski Beatz made popular via his execution on Jay-Z’s “Dead Presidents.”
The clip – directed by Andrew Hamilton – sees dvsn frontman Daniel Daley surprising his girl, played by the equally-talented Kreesha Turner, with a romantic night out in a beautifully-arranged warehouse space. They eventually make their way to a piano, where Kreesha jumps on top and dances seductively to the music while Daley plays along with the song’s mature lyrics:
“On me like a tattoo/
I don’t wanna take it out but I have to/
But only for a second then I’m back in/
You know when I come and how I’m packin’/
Look over your shoulders, put your back in/
You leavin’ in the mornin’, you’re supposed to be packin’/
Yeah we gon’ have to push that flight back…/”
It’s certainly one of the hotter viewings out, and the rain arrives at the end just in time for the couple to do whatever their imagination allows them do.
“A Muse” also follows three other tracks that dvsn liberated for the masses last year – “In Between,” “Miss Me?” and the Future-assisted “No Cryin.” Presumably, all of these drops will contribute to their long-awaited new body of work.
Press play on “A Muse” below, which is also available via your favorite streaming platform. If Nineteen85’s recent tweet is in fact true, then fans can expect the new project to drop by month’s end. Given that it’s been three years, one can only hope.
