On Monday night (Sept. 23), Megan Thee Stallion made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In an effort to celebrate fall’s arrival, the two released a hilarious music video entitled “Hot Girl Fall.”
In the three-minute visual, Megan and Fallon declare that “Hot Girl Summer” is officially over. As the video unfolds, Megan and Fallon hit choreography effortlessly while spitting bars about the season change. ”Hot Girl Fall, b—h, yeah, it’s finally here / It’s the season to get cozy with a pumpkin-ass beer/ Grab a cable-knit scarf and your chunkiest sweater/ ‘Cause the summer was dope, but the fall’s even better,” they rap on the chorus.
More recently, Megan’s trademark for “Hot Girl Summer” was approved. While speaking with Allure magazine, the “Big Ole Freak” artist revealed that she unaware of her catchphrase’s impact. “I really didn’t even know that it was gonna catch on how it did. It was just me talking sh-t, telling everybody I was gonna be me for the summer, and they should be them too, like as free as they can be.”
She continued, “When I saw Wendy’s and Forever 21 saying, ‘Hey, are you having a Hot Girl Summer?’ I was like, ‘Hell no, Forever 21, you’re going to have to pay me.’ But I just wanted to get it trademarked because it’s me. It’s my thing.”
Back in August, Megan reiterated that she is focused on both her school work and music. Currently, she is studying health administration at Texas Southern University. In addition to that, she is also a featured performer on Meek Mill and Future’s co-headlining tour, “Legendary Nights Tour.”
“Being a hot girl is like a lifestyle, and everyone knows I’m still in college,” Megan said. “It’s gonna be a real hot girl semester, you know what I’m saying? Real Hot Nerd Fall, so I’m just about to start puttin’ on for all my school girls.”
