The verdict is in and 50 Cent will give the people what they want.
For the latest season of Power, 50 Cent unveiled a new remix for the show’s theme song, “Big Rich Town.” The theme song originally featured Joe, however, Fif tapped on Trey Songz for an updated sound. After hearing the mixed reviews from fans, 50 Cent stated that he is going back to the original.
“My IG has been disabled because I’m tired of ya mouth,” Fif wrote on Instagram. “I don’t like the s–t you been saying to me about the theme song. So I’m gone for the weekend. I’ll change it next week. Leave me alone fool.”
In addition to that, Fifty stated that the change will start as early as next week. Last week, 50 Cent jokingly stated that if the backlash continues that he would switch back to the original. In an effort to provide an explanation for the change, the New York rapper said that Trey did the remix as a favor. While poking fun at the situation, Trey said that 50 owes him for the backlash he’s encountered over the song. “Ima slap the sh*t outta one of you ni***s bout this Power s–t,” Trey wrote on Instagram.
Three days ago, 50 Cent reiterated that Power will not end after the sixth season. “POWER BOOK II starts 48 hours after the finale, so stop saying this is the last season. THE PARTY IS NOT OVER. #lecheminduroi #bransoncognac,” he wrote on Instagram. Back in July, Mary J. Blige confirmed that she is set to star in Starz’s upcoming show “Power Book 2: Ghost,” which will serve as a spinoff to “Power.”
“This is probably the most exciting thing that’s going to happen to me this year,” Blige said, according to Variety. “I’ve been a fan of ‘Power’ since the very beginning and I want to thank Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent for starting this conversation with me.”
