Ari Lennox’ voice is as smooth as butter, which directly translates into her vibrant visuals. This week, the first lady of Dreamville unleashes the official music video for “BMO,” hailing from her critically acclaimed debut album, Shea Butter Baby, released in May of this year.
“BMO” stands for “Break Me Off” and Ari brings all the sexy, sultry vibes of love and lust in her music. Off the rip, you see the 28-year-old in a sleek, all-white outfit inside a lush exotic room with red walls and a leopard carpet. The short minute visual sees the star in multiple sensual scenes including a bubble bath highlighting her brown melanin skin at its finest.
On the chorus, she croons, “Break me off and gitchi gitchi yaya / When the lights is out, I’m summertime crushin’, put that game on pause / And do it how I like it, baby, nice and slow.”
At the one-minute mark, the shot cuts to Ari on the couch with a love interest, as she serenades him with her romance-filled lyrics. If you’ve got a crush this summer, this song delivers as the soundtrack to that perfect date night. Whether you’re at dinner, catching a movie, or simply hanging out at home, “BMO” brings all the vibes. Directed by child., the music video gives an accurate depiction of the D.C. native’s diverse personality from down-the-earth to diva all in one.
“BMO” is the third single off her the project, following singles “Whipped Cream,” “Shea Butter Baby” and “Whipped Cream.” The latter currently sits at top 20 at Urban Radio and was also featured in the Creed II soundtrack.
