It’s safe to say that “Sicko Mode” was one of the biggest songs of 2018. In Travis Scott’s Netflix documentary, Look Mom I Can Fly, which released yesterday (Aug. 28), the Houston rapper gave an inside peek at his life.

Of the many highlights in the 85-minute film, one moment that stood out is when Scott heard Drake’s “Sicko Mode” verse for the first time. In the clip, Scott and his friends bop their heads accordingly to the beat. Nonetheless, La Flame and his friends lose it after hearing Drake say “checks over stripes.” Following that punchline, Scott runs around excited regarding the song’s potential.

As they say, good things come to those who wait. Back in November of 2018, it was revealed that Drake turned in his verse at 2 a.m. on the same day ASTROWORLD was released. Although Kanye West wasn’t too fond of Drizzy’s verse on Scott’s project, ‘Ye still made a surprise appearance in the documentary. During Stormi Webster’s birthday party, West praises Scott for everything he’s accomplished including his Grammy nominations, Super Bowl performance and celebrating his daughter’s first birthday.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Scott shows his vulnerability and how he responds to a loss. The 28-year-old rapper was disheartened when he didn’t win Album of the Year at the Grammys. In fact, his reaction was so heartbreaking that fans felt sympathetic towards Scott. Shortly after the documentary’s release, fans explained that Scott should’ve won the coveted award instead of Cardi B.

“Travis got robbed of a Grammy Astroworld was easily AOTY #LookMomICanFly,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “This Travis Netflix doc has reignited my anger that Cardi B won a Grammy over Astroworld. To this day I still haven’t played that Cardi B album,” another fan tweeted.
