ATL, what’s happenin?! REVOLT Summit will be pulling up to the city on Sept. 12 – Sept. 14 for our three-day event that was created to help rising moguls — Atlanta is full of them! — reach the next level.
Ahead of it, we’re super excited to give you some details about the fun time. The occasion will feature some of the biggest names in hip hop culture and who rep Atlanta to the fullest, making the city proud each and every time they take the music world by storm with their power moves.
First and foremost, we’re proud to announce that Quality Control boss-men Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “Pee” Thomas will be joining in on the festivities as co-chairs, alongside REVOLT Media & TV Chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs! Heading one of the most successful labels in rap today, REVOLT can’t wait to have the two attend the Summit and speak to the people about their success in a discussion that will be called “Quality Control: The Blueprint Behind Hip Hop’s Most Influential Imprint.”
Famed songwriter Ester Dean — a star who’s written some of your favorite songs over the last few years — will also be joining the “Songwriting 101” panel, where she’ll be sharing her process for making hit records. “State of the Culture” co-host Remy Ma will also be a judge for “Be Heard,” a competition where REVOLT Summit attendees can audition for the chance to kick off their singing or rapping career.
One of the other exciting features that we’ll have at the REVOLT Summit includes a panel titled “The Pioneers Panel.” This will consist of boss veterans in hip hop who paved the way for the next generation to flourish. The panel will include Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, and Rico Wade.
Then, REVOLT Summit will have another feature called “Trap the Vote: Hip Hop & Politics,” which will offer wise words about the importance of making your voice heard in the 2020 election from Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, political journalist Eboni K. Williams; and rapper and activist T.I. Journalist Jeff Johnson will be moderating this discussion, as well.
But, that’s not all! Since the 80s’ — a collective of music heavy-hitters in the Atlanta hip hop scene who manage acts like 21 Savage and EarthGang — own Kei Henderson and Zekiel Nicholson will also educate the youth at the event about their business moves in the game. This is a great bonus because Henderson is a member of the REVOLT Summit Atlanta board of advisors, whose mission is to ensure that when the Summit touches the A, it’s going to be a game-changing event like nothing Atlanta has ever seen.
“This is the first big announcement of many for REVOLT Summit in Atlanta,” Combs said. “I’m excited that Coach K and Pierre ‘Pee’ Thomas will join me as co-chairs of the Atlanta Summit. We’ve got many big and exciting announcements to come that will include established artists, leaders and the real next generation of cultural voices.”
