ScHoolboy Q is here to bless his fans with a brand new visual from his most recent album CrasH Talk. The TDE rapper has unleashed four visuals thus far from the feature-heavy project, including lead single “Numb Numb Juice,” “Chopstix” with Travis Scott, “Floating”, and most recently “Dangerous” with Kid Cudi.
Now, “Lies” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and YG get the visual treatment. Q shared the link of the new release to his 2.6 million followers on Twitter at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, calling his fellow L.A. natives his “N words.” Who directed the three-minute video? None other than Teyana “Spike Tee” Taylor.
“Lies” begins with a clip from Q’s “Dangerous” music video, a dark scene where the Grammy nominated musician falls victim to a drive-by shooting. The shot immediately cuts to an audience watching the “Dangerous” video displayed on a projector at a drive-in theater. Luckily, the vibe and energy of “Lies” is much more upbeat and positive, displaying the reality of what a beautiful Los Angeles summer looks like.
Ty Dolla $ign then comes in on the hook, “Stop tellin’ lies on me, that shit ain’t okay (Hey, hey, hey),” with black and white subtitles on the screen for you to follow along. Soon enough, it turns into a full-blown party in the parking lot. The function is filled with lowriders, red cups, and of course, tons of pretty women.
CrasH Talk serves as the 32-year-old’s third studio album, released by way of Top Dawg Entertainment/ Interscope Records. Just two days ago, Q unleashed a brand new single with his favorite producer The Alchemist titled“W.Y.G.D.T.N.S.”The acronym stands for “When you gonna drop that new shit?”, leaving fans with a message: patience is a virtue. The record arrives as a part of Alchemist’s Craft Singles series, where he records original tracks with artists he loves and respects.
