6lack continues to use his platform to promote positivity. While on Instagram yesterday (July 25), the Atlanta artist shared his latest philanthropic efforts.
The “Stan” singer explained that he was able to provide clean water to those living in Uganda. With the help of DROP4DROP charity, 6lack had the opportunity to put a smile on fans’ faces, which is a dream come true for him.
“The best part about finding success, is having the ability to do things that seemed so farfetched as a kid,” he wrote. “It’s crazy to think that somethin as simple as fresh water, is still a problem for millions of people in the world, but it is. clean water means more food, more jobs, and more learning. so with the help of @drop4drop, we found an area in Uganda, in need of fresh water, built a water well for the community, and here are the results. I appreciate music for changing my life, but i love it even more for being the vehicle to do more in the world. for my people and for all people. swipe for a smile.”
In other 6lack-related news, he is focused on the music right now. Last year, 6lack released his sophomore studio album, East Atlanta Love Letter. The 14-track LP featured guest appearances from Future, J. Cole, Offset and more. While speaking on the project, 6lack emphasized the importance of releasing music that felt authentic.
“I wrote this album for those with difficulty expressing themselves or their love,” he began. “Communication is key and over time it’s proven to be my biggest obstacle. I want you to know that just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Never give up on love because it’s the most powerful feeling you can share with someone, and if you’re feeling doubtful, know that I wrote this especially for you to listen to during those times. I hope it helps.”
