In addition to perfecting their live sets, entertainers must also be prepared to fight the unexpected, especially when chaos breaks out on stage.
While some are seasoned experts at maneuvering through unpredictable glitches (hint, Beyoncé), others are finding out in the moment if they are able to improvise on the spot with seemingly perfect ease.
Most recently, Yo Gotti found himself being put to the test and ending up coming through with an on-stage victory.
As reported, during his seventh annual Birthday Bash concert, the Memphis rapper’s live set was underway per usual when disaster struck. In the middle of his hit single, “Rack It Up,” Yo Gotti placed his leg on a pyrotechnic device at the very second that it went off and flames shot out.
His leg immediately caught on fire, and despite the situation being a perfect reason to panic, he remained calm and collected. Yo Gotti continued to perform the track without a hitch, while someone rushed on stage to put the small fire out.
The concert continued, with Gotti thankfully both unharmed and unbothered.
He later took to Instagram to comment on the situation.
“S–t Got Too Litt Last Night .. Literally,” he wrote, captioning a video of the incident. “I’m From da streets I been playing wit Fire My Whole Life .. #NotEvenFireCanStopAG #NoPressure #BirthDayBash7.”
And there you have it. Additionally during the Birthday Bash festivities, Yung Miami of City Girls, Blac Youngsta, Moneybagg Yo, BlocBoy JB and others performed.
Currently, Yo Gotti is busy at work at Trapped, which is set to be his seventh studio album and was announced in late 2018. He last released I Still Am in 2017.
