50 Cent had to school an aspiring rapper on Wednesday night (June 5).
The Queens native was reportedly out on a date with “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” star Nikki Nicole when rapper NFL Dume approached him with his demo. The incident nearly escalated into a brawl before 50 told Dume his approach was all wrong.
“You gon’ hit me because I’m telling you I got talent?” Dume asked in one of two clips uploaded to Instagram. 50 (real name Curtis Jackson) went on to explain, “It’s not gon’ work. Your s—t is not gon’ work. You know why? Because you’re stupid. The way you’re approaching it is wrong! There’s nothing you can play right now. There’s nothing you can show me right now that’s gon’ help you.”
In the second clip, Dume attempts to reconcile the incident by insisting the “Many Men” artist to checked out his Instagram page. “‘Look at my IG’ is gon’ help you right now?!” 50 retorted.
Fans seemed to agree with the way 50 handled the situation. “50 is right! His approach is wrong! Why do ppl get mad when celebrities say no? Like they are entitled to something,” one person tweeted. “Glad 50 handled it well. He has too much to lose because 1 punch could’ve landed ole buddy a couple millions,” another person wrote.
The “Power” series creator and executive producer took to Instagram to joke about the incident, writing that he was selling “Just Look at My IG” t-shirts. “[A]vailable now, or I should knock ya little ass out. com,” he captioned the post as seen below.
Meanwhile, Dume took to his own Instagram to share his thoughts on the random encounter. The New Jersey artist admitted he “grew up listening” to 50’s music and respected him, but didn’t appreciate the response he got.
