Back in May, Soulja Boy’s goal of having the “biggest comeback of 2019” was suddenly put on pause after he was sentenced to seven months in jail for violating probation.
Although he’s currently incarcerated, Big Soulja has been hit with more legal trouble, from lawsuits over missed performances to potential additional criminal charges for alleged kidnapping. However, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office has announced they will not press charges for the latter, according to TMZ.
Back in February, Drako was accused of holding an ex-girlfriend hostage at his home in the garage. The accuser alleged that Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, prevented her from leaving by tying her to a chair with an extension cord. While he denied all accusations, the county sheriff’s department issued a warrant to search Soulja Boy’s home for evidence.
When authorities search Soulja Boy’s home, police discovered ammunition, which is against the terms of his probation. He was immediately arrested and sentenced to seven months in jail, plus an additional 265 days of community service. However, they did not find evidence that the alleged kidnapping took place, resulting in prosecutors declining to press charges.
Soulja Boy is currently being held in L.A. County jail and is expected to be released later this year.
