As fans have noticed throughout the past 24 hours, proud representatives of the Dreamville roster, including J. Cole and signees such as Bas, Ari Lennox, and JID, changed their avatars on social media to the same image.
The new profile photos are in line with the same color and style of the flyers promoting the long-awaited compilation, Revenge of the Dreamers III.
With the roster answering the call to unite on social media in full force, fans eagerly began refreshing their timelines to keep an eye out for a verified release date. While anticipation remains at an all-time high, the label has decided to get down to business by first sharing two singles off the collaborative project.
As confirmed on Tuesday (June 11), the first two singles from Revenge of the Dreamers III will be “Got Me” featuring Ari Lennox, Ty Dolla $ign, Omen, and Dreezy, as well as “Down Bad” featuring J. Cole, Bas, JID, EarthGang, and Young Nudy. Both singles will be dropping Wednesday (June 12) at 9 p.m. ET.
As previously reported, the highly anticipated compilation was recorded over the course of a 10-day period in January of this year. The label boss, J. Cole, sent out personalized invitations to select artists for the special recording sessions. In addition to the label’s home team, artists such as Rick Ross, T.I., Ludacris, Wale, Swizz Beatz and Big K.R.I.T., among others, were in the building.
“There were so many different energies,” Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad shared with XXL back in April. “The hardest part was finding how to bring those energies together and still make it feel like an album, like something that represents us. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. But the music is so good.”
Revenge of the Dreamers III was originally slated to drop back in April, leaving fans hopeful the full project’s release is now imminent. In the meantime, take a listen to two snippets of the compilation’s lead singles below.
