One day after it was reported that Soulja Boy’s Instagram was hacked, TMZ now confirms the rapper’s home has been burglarized.
According to law enforcement sources, suspects involved in the Monday night (April 15) home invasion made off with tons of cash, jewelry, and Soulja Boy’s phone. The perpetrators reportedly used the stolen iPhone to brag about their theft of Soulja Boy’s property on social media.
Sources close to the 28-year-old, who is currently being held in a California jail without bail, say the thieves made off with $500k worth of jewelry and another $100k in cash. Some of the items stolen include chains, earrings, and luxury watches, TMZ reports.
On Thursday (April 11), a judge found Soulja Boy (real name DeAndre Cortez Way) in violation of his probation stemming from his arrest last month. In that incident, officers allegedly discovered firearm and ammo at his home. Soulja Boy was also accused of attempting to falsify evidence that he successfully completed his mandatory community service hours.
Soulja Boy reportedly has no idea his personal belongings have been stolen at press time. An unidentified caretaker for the property alerted authorities shortly after the burglary took place on Monday evening. Interesting enough, the five thieves featured in the aforementioned videos have reached out to Soulja Boy’s celebrity friends on Instagram pretending to be new artists and requesting features, TMZ claims.
Law enforcement is searching for the suspects shown in the footage uploaded to Soulja Boy’s hacked account. He will remain in custody until his next hearing scheduled for April 30.
