Rapper Nipsey Hussle has died at age 33.
TMZ first reported the Los Angeles native was gunned down outside of his clothing store, the Marathon Clothing Company, in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on Sunday (March 31). Hussle (real name Ermias Ashedom) was reportedly shot six times, according to eyewitnesses in the area.
Disturbing footage of the graphic incident made rounds on the internet immediately after the shooting. Hussle was unresponsive while being treated by paramedics. Law enforcement sources confirmed one of the three men who was shot at the store was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital. Moments later, Hussle’s untimely death was confirmed.
He leaves behind two children: a daughter and a son with actress Lauren London. Shortly before the shooting on Sunday afternoon, Hussle sent out a vague tweet regarding “enemies.” “Having strong enemies is a blessing,” he wrote, as shown below.
The Grammy-nominated rapper recently revealed his joint album plans with Meek Mill was still in the works and opened up about his relationship with London to GQ last month. He released what would be his first and final album, Victory Lap in February 2018.
