Blueface wants to clear his name after being arrested for felony gun possession. On Friday (Feb. 1), the Cash Money West rapper was taken into custody in downtown Los Angeles following an encounter with LAPD. The police were reportedly concerned about “rappers in the area” flaunting their money and jewelry. According to reports, the 22-year-old rapper and his crew were thought to be “easy targets” due to recent robberies in the area.

When law enforcement arrived upon the scene, Blueface and his entourage reportedly “scattered and several of them tossed their guns away as they fled.” His manager, Wack 100, however, doesn’t buy that story and recently told TMZ there should be enough surveillance footage from the night in question to prove Blueface is innocent.

In fact, Wack 100 says Blueface “never had a gun” when the LAPD arrested him last week. He urged investigators to check the guns recovered at the scene for Blueface’s fingerprints. Wack 100 believes that none of Blueface’s prints will be found on any of the weapons. Blueface’s manager also told TMZ that his artist was in his car when the police ordered him to get out and he was unaware of anyone in his posse carrying a firearm.

Wack 100 says Blueface is thankful to law enforcement for moving his car to a safe place — away from the alleged thieves in the area — instead of impounding it during his arrest. The rapper is now home after posting $35,000 bail and reportedly wants to put the entire ordeal behind him.

Blueface has already received cosigns from Drake and French Montana and is preparing to go on tour this Spring with Lil Baby and City Girls on the New Generation tour to promote his Famous Cryp mixtape. His YG-assisted single “Thotiana (Remix)” continues to rise on the Billboard Hot 100, currently charting at No. 28.
