Tonight is the biggest (and sometimes most controversial) night in the music industry. The 61st annual Grammy Awards will be hosted by 15-time Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys, and hip hop and R&B are expected to dominate all night with performances from Cardi B, Young Thug, H.E.R., Janelle Monáe and more.
Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s friendly competition will hit new heights as the two will face-off in several major categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. K. Dot leads nominations with eight, while Drake has seven.
All eyes will be on Cardi B and her five nominations including Album of the Year for her debut Invasion of Privacy, Record of the Year for “I Like It,” Best Rap Performance for “Be Careful,” Best Rap Album and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the Maroon 5 single, “Girls Like You.”
So far in the preshow, Dave Chapelle has taken home the Grammy for Best Comedy Album and Tori Kelly has taken home two Grammys for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/ Song. Quincy Jones has taken home his 27th Grammy for Best Music Film for his documentary, Quincy.
