It looks like Stacey Dash and her husband are trying to work things out.
We previously reported that Stacey Dash was arrested for allegedly slapping her husband, Jeffrey Marty, during a domestic dispute. Dash was arrested on Sunday (Sept. 29) in Pascao County. The policed received a call from her home around 7:45 p.m. to respond to a domestic dispute between Dash and Marty. The former actress allegedly pushed and slapped her husband and the cops arrived shortly after. When the police arrived, they found scratches on Marty’s left arm. Dash reportedly called 911 and said she acted in self-defense. She was held on $500 bail, but was later released.
According to TMZ, prosecutors dropped the case due to insufficient evidence. The outlet reported that the injury was minor and it was unclear if Dash inflicted it.
The Blast has since reported that Marty never wanted Dash arrested in the first place. Florida prosecutors dropped the case last week, but it was unclear why. It appears that prosecutors did not have a cooperating witness and Dash’s husband was pushing for her to be cleared.
Shortly after the incident, Marty took to Twitter and revealed that Dash was arrested over his “objection at the time.” “Today, the State Attorney made the right call by declining to file charges against my wife, @staceydash. She was arrested over my objection at the time, but due to the pending investigation, I waited to comment until now. We both look forward to getting this behind us,” he tweeted.
Last week, we reported that Dash claimed Marty and his three children conspired to have her arrested. She claimed that her husband coached his 15, 14 and 10-year-old on what to say when authorities arrived. Dash said that Marty is an attorney and knows what to tell his “awful children” for the story to work in his favor.
