Fresh off the heels of her film debut in the $100 million-grossing movie Hustlers, Cardi B will hit the big screen again, this time in the 9th installment of Universal’s Fast & Furious. Entertainment Weekly reports that Cardi will have a small role in the upcoming film.
Fast & Furious star and producer Vin Diesel first teased the news through an Instagram video, where the cast was busy filming their last day in the U.K.
“Day 86 here on the set of Fast 9,” he said in the clip. “I know, I’m exhausted. We all literally gave every single thing we could for this movie. Put it all on the table, put it all out there.”
“I’m tired, but I can’t wait,” Cardi said, sitting next to Diesel. “I ain’t gonna front, I think this is going to be the best one.”
Fast 9 will star Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, John Cena and Ludacris. Directed by Justin Lin, the film hits theaters May 22.
The Grammy-winning rapper isn’t the only recording artist to grace the stage. According to Deadline, she’ll be joined by Latin pop star Ozuna, who will also contribute to the film’s soundtrack. It’s unclear yet if Cardi will also be featured.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper also recently made her Netflix debut as a judge in the talent show, “Rhythm + Flow .” T. I. and Chance the Rapper are also featured alongside as judges in the series.
Currently working on her sophomore album, Cardi recently announced that her upcoming LP will be titled Tiger Woods. “Everything that I’m working on right now is straight to my album. Straight to my album,” she told her fans during a recent Instagram Live session. “And I think I’m gonna name my album Tiger Woods. I think I’ma name my album Tiger Woods ‘cause remember when everybody was talking sh*t on Tiger Woods and then he f**king came and won that green jacket? That’s what I’ma name my album.” Cardi later retracted the news, saying the album title was a joke.
