Friday (Oct. 18), Yung Miami and Southside welcomed their baby daughter, Summer Miami. The City Girls rapper shared sweet photos of their newborn daughter dressed in a ruffled pink dress and sleeping next to her father in the hospital.
“Summer Miami,” she wrote on Instagram. “So happy & blessed.”
Summer is Miami’s second child and first with producer Southside. She also has a 6-year-old son named Jai. Southside has five other children, including sons Karmello, Legend and RJ, along with two daughters named Karlye and Haylee.
“I’m convinced I have to be Chinese or Asian! My baby is everything,” Miami wrote on her Instagram Stories.
Two months ago, the “Act Up” rapper was the target of a drive-by shooting in Miami, FL. Local law enforcement told TMZ she was in a red Mercedes G-Wagon during the incident, but was not harmed.
City Girls’ other half, JT, was released from prison earlier this month. She also celebrated Summer’s arrival on Twitter.
“So I can finally express how happy I am that summers here,” she wrote Friday, followed by a second tweet stating, “Snook snook is beautiful just like her mommy.”
Since being released from jail, the duo wasted no time in getting back to work. According to Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas, they are currently gearing up to drop an album within the next 90 days. Earlier this week he told TMZ, “She gon’ start recording next week and just stay tuned.”
City Girls most recently dropped the single “JT First Day Out” in celebration of JT’s freedom. While JT was locked up, Yung Miami released “Come On” With Saweetie and DJ Durel, and “Haterade” with Big Drako.
The Florida-bred duo’s last full-length project, Girl Code, was released last year. The 13-track record featured Jacquees on “Give It A Try,” Lil Baby on “Season” and Cardi B on “Twerk.” If all goes according to plan, their follow-up project could be released at the top of next year.
