Although he is currently behind bars, 6ix9ine is steadily working towards his comeback.
Per TMZ, the rainbow-haired rapper has signed a record deal worth more than $10 million with his former label, 10K Projects. For the deal, the rapper is expected to release two albums, one in English and one in Spanish. Understandably, this news doesn’t come as a complete surprise.
According to a recent report from Page Six, the 23-year-old was thinking of a follow-up project to his Dummy Boy album, which was released in November of 2018. “It looks like he will be making music right away when he comes home,” said a music insider. “He already contacted a young NYC producer, and someone purchased two beats for him.”
As of right now, fans might have to wait a little longer before they hear new music from 6ix9ine. On Dec. 18, 6ix9ine will learn his fate regarding his case. At first, 6ix9ine’s sentencing date was set for Jan. 24, 2020, however, his legal team was able to expedite the request. “Counsel for Mr. Hernandez respectfully requests that sentencing be scheduled on an expedited basis,” the document states. “The Government does not object to this request.”
During his trial, 6ix9ine testified against his former associates, Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, as part of his plea deal agreement. For his ruling, Judge Matthew Russell Lee found Ellison guilty of 6ix9ine’s “kidnapping in aid of racketeering…racketeering conspiracy and maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.” As for Mack, he was found not guilty of kidnapping, but guilty of “racketeering conspiracy and narcotics trafficking.”
More recently, Casanova spoke on 6ix9ine’s federal case during an interview on HOT 97’s “Ebro in the Morning.” The Brooklyn rapper stated that he wishes the best for the “FEFE” spitter. “Before he went to jail, we was cool. I ain’t have no problem with him,” he said.
