The Game may not have gotten the memo that Kanye West is tolerating no slander against his wife, Kim Kardashian, these days –especially after the whole Drake debacle.

On Thursday (Jan. 24) night, the Los Angeles rapper hosted a listening session for his upcoming album, Born to Rap, during which he previewed a new song that is sure to land him in some controversial waters.

As reported by XXL, Eric Bellinger’s personal assistant captured video footage from the invite-only event. In the clip, you can hear Game rapping sexually explicit lyrics directed at Kardashian.

“I held Kim Kardashian by her throat n—a / I made her swallow my kids until she choked n—a,” The Game spits on the currently unreleased track. “I should apologize, ’cause ‘Ye my folks n—a / This for all my Vicelords and locs, n—a.”

Even though music’s past runs deep when it comes to misogyny and how the culture has historically viewed women as sex objects, it’s hard not to cringe at the graphic lyricism in today’s climate.

Considering that fact that movements such as #MeToo and #MuteRKelly are sparking a nationwide dialogue daily, The Game should anticipate some pushback after this song comes out — especially when factoring in his own troubled past.

As previously reported, two years ago, the rapper was found liable for damages in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by Priscilla Rainey. The reality TV star alleged that she was sexually assaulted by the rapper while on set of VH1’s “She’s Got Game.”

As exemplified by R. Kelly backlash continuing to unfold in the weeks after the debut of the “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries, it’s clear a new social consciousness is beginning to emerge in society and in the music industry alike. Keeping that in mind, it’s hard not to wonder how The Game’s ruthless lyrics will be received by fans.
