The Gooch was loose Thursday night (April 19) in Montclair, N.J.
Sporting a black and mustard tracksuit with an assortment of sparkling chains around his neck, Gucci Mane headlined the ‘Campus Chaos: Graduation’ show at the Wellmont Theater.
“Both” commenced the proceedings with the crowd getting amped as Gucci calmly spewed his trap house-inspired slick talk. And the East Atlanta Santa was definitely in his bag as he dropped his next hit, “I Get The Bag.”
Social media recently debated whether Gucci or T.I. invented or popularized trap music, but no matter which side you take, there is no denying Gucci pushed the genre forward.
After “Lemonade,” “Freaky Girl” came on, as did Mrs. Davis. Gucci’s wife Keyshia Ka’Oir came out to support her husband. Wearing a black and white Fendi top and boots to match, Guwop’s better half danced and rapped along with him. No mic needed, she brought energy.
Gucci then went into “Black Beatles” and “Wasted.” And further along, he acknowledged his dearly departed partners Shawty Lo and Bankroll Fresh. He then yelled “Free Ralo.” Ralo was arrested on Thursday and charged with conspiracy to distribute close to 500 pounds of marijuana.
Perhaps purveying hopeful sentiments to his friend, Gucci ended his 27-minute long set with “First Day Out.” “You on my shit list,” Gooch rapped. “I’m on the Forbes list.”
