Black Panther is continuing its historic run.
According to early weekend projections, the Marvel epic is expected to come out on top of the box office again this weekend, earning the history-making tentpole another impressive milestone.
Black Panther is poised to become the first film, since 2009’s Avatar, to be the number one film in theaters across the U.S. for five consecutive weekends.
Per reports, Black Panther is set to close out Sunday with a domestic total of nearly $610 million, bringing it that much closer to becoming the top-grossing superhero film of all time in North America. The Avengers currently holds the lead with $623 million.
In related news, the film’s star Chadwick Boseman has also been tapped to host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, with Cardi B as the evening’s musical guest. The episode is set to air on April 7.
