Blue Ivy Carter is currently trending on Twitter, with fans in a frenzy over how the six-year-old daughter of JAY-Z and Beyoncé stole the show at the annual Wearable Art Gala by casually bidding $19,000 during the auction portion of the festivities.
The celebratory auction, which was held Saturday night (March 17) at the Alexandria Ballrooms in Los Angeles, was organized by Tina Knowles Lawson, and Beyoncé’s stepfather Richard Lawson. Helping further prove this was a family affair, Queen Bey was also honored for her humanitarian work, alongside her mother-in-law, Gloria Carter.
As displayed in adorable video footage making its rounds online, Blue jumped in during the art auction, which was hosted by Star Jones, during which she can be seen raising her paddle to bid on a piece of art. JAY-Z hilariously then jumps in, playfully trying to take the paddle away from her and, in turn, welcoming fans to react to the candid moment online.
“Her mother and father have been talking about how you gather art and that is a big deal for African Americans,” Jones said, addressing the hilarious moment on stage. “Listen, you know Ms. Tina told me all of this. Why you think I’m up here talking about it?”
The evening, which was themed “From WACO to Wakanda” in celebration of Black Panther, definitely has certainly got the internet talking. Take a look at what fans are saying about Blue Ivy’s casual $19K bid, below.
