If you’ve been wondering what Chamillionaire has been up to–when he’s not volunteering to help the people impacted by Hurricane Harvey–look no further than the tech industry where he’s been a successful startup investor (for companies like Cruise, which sold to General Motors and Maker Studios, which was bought by Disney).
However, he’s since decided to launch his own social media app, named Convoz, and pitched the idea at a recent summit held by venture capitalist firm Upfront.
Cham told Tech Crunch that Convoz, a video-centric platform, aims to be “the place where you go to talk to people.”
“I just wasn’t happy with the communication channels that are currently existing on social media,” he added, explaining that he was inspired to create an alternative to Twitter.
Cham envisions that Convoz can be an app where people can converse face-to-face with stars or find new friends with common interests.
Celebrity investors in Convoz include Big Boi, E-40, and Snoop Dogg, who Cham even brought out as a surprise guest during his presentation. Check the 18:00 mark!
