ESPN’s Jemele Hill is stepping away from her post on SportsCenter.

As reported by Sports Illustrated, Hill is leaving her “SC6” SportsCenter desk to join ESPN’s microsite, The Undefeated. The report cites sources that Hill asked management for the transfer to the the network’s sister vertical, which centers on the topics of culture, sports, and race.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hill’s departure date is set for Friday, February 2. The upcoming move comes after Hill gained national attention last year for being vocal on political and social issues. In September, she called Donald Trump a white supremacist on Twitter and was suspended a month later for a tweet about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Despite the controversy behind her comments, Hill maintained a prominent voice in African American cultural issues.

“I don’t really have any regrets about the language I used because I do think that there is some evidence to at least where we can question some of the things that [Trump] has said and done,” she told Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch.

UPDATE: Jemele Hill has confirmed the reports with a statement released from her Twitter account. She clarified that she wasn’t demoted or kicked off of 6 p.m. Sportscenter, but that she asked to leave “because of a strong desire to return to reporting, writing, and commentary.” Read her full statement below.
