Following Lil Peep’s death late last year, the result of a drug overdose, Lil Uzi Vert publicly revealed he was taking steps towards his own sobriety.

Now both Smokepurpp and Lil Pump have followed suit, taking to social media to share that they’re heading into the new year by giving up Xanax, a medication for anxiety.

‘Purpp said he was “leaving [it] in 2017” and Pump confessed he currently was off the prescription drug.

Xanax previously contributed to the death of DJ AM. Young Thug was in possession of the drug when arrested back in September, and traces were also found in Tiger Woods when he was arrested for a DUI in August.
