Last year saw Jorja Smith get Drake’s stamp of approval, collaborate with Kali Uchis, nab her first charting single as a lead artist with “On My Mind,” contribute to Insecure‘s Season 2 soundtrack, and announce her upcoming tour.
Now she’s joined forces with fellow UK artist Stormzy to deliver “Let Me Down,” a piano-led ballad that follows a couple ruminating over the push-and-pull of their relationship. As she sings, “Sometimes, I wouldn’t mind if I was less important / But I’ve got you to let me down,” he spits: “Said I’ll be back in a sec, I need to reflect / But you swear it’s been longer than that…Don’t go wasting your loving on me / When I see tears, I’m unlikely to run.” Hear it below via Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
