When you’ll do something, without hesitation, for somebody else that you wouldn’t do for yourself, that’s real love. So when Young Thug agreed to shoot a music video with DJ Carnage for their surprising collaborative ‘Young Martha’ project—the name of their duo and upcoming EP—you could tell that their sibling-like bond was powerful.

While visiting REVOLT TV’s New York studio, Carnage said, “That’s like my brother. It’s funny, you can say that’s my brother, my family, everything, but one thing’s for sure: Thug don’t f—k with a lot of people. He’s to himself. He’s in the studio or he’s doing a show. He doesn’t f—k with anybody. For some weird reason, he f—ks with me hella hard. He doesn’t like doing videos, he doesn’t like doing his own videos. Yet, I flew out to Atlanta to do the video and he stayed there the whole video. Like five hours. Walking out, he was like, ‘You know, I hate doing videos. But I love you.’ And he did the video.”

Young Martha’s first single is aptly-titled “Homie” and features Meek Mill. The video is definitely abstract as director Oscar Hudson plays with camera angles and, in the end, a boisterous chap gets left hanging to his misfortune. Carnage and Thug shot the video some months back. As for the name: sorry, comic book fans, but it has nothing to do with Martha Kent or Martha Wayne, but rather Snoop Dogg’s current TV co-star.

“‘Young Martha,’ I just came up with that,” Carnage said. “I was watching a document on Martha Stewart. How much of a boss she was. ‘Young Martha.’ Martha in her prime before you took that L. She was winning. She was taking them dubs.”

The Young Martha EP is due September 22.
