Bobby Brown is doing his best to stop the premiere of TV One’s upcoming biopic about his and Whitney Houston’s only child, Bobbi Kristina.
Bobbi Kristina is set to premiere on October 8 and stars Joy Rovaris as Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston who was found unconscious in a bath tub two years ago. According to Bobby Brown, the film “knowingly and maliciously” depicts him as a violent drug addict and suggests he did not love his daughter. Brown calls the portrayal “defamatory and untrue.”
Bobby Brown is seeking to halt the release of the biopic and suing for $1 million in damages.
TV One has since released a statement via E! News, saying, “We are aware of the reported legal challenge by Bobby Brown regarding the film Bobbi Kristina and are taking appropriate steps on behalf of our network to respond. While we are not able to address our legal response at this time, we stand by the film and its representation of this period in Bobbi Kristina’s life.”
