Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have killed and displaced thousands in their wake, leaving people without food, water, belongings and places to live. But today’s (Sept. 12) live telethon “Hand In Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief” – a show with appearances and performances by Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, Drake, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, and more – aims to help.
Houston rap legend Bun B and Scooter Braun are the organizers for the telecast, which will reportedly include footage from New York (Times Square), Los Angeles (the Universal Studios lot), Nashville (Grand Ole Opry), and San Antonio (Majestic Theater).
Other celebrities set to be involved include REVOLT TV Chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs, Tori Kelly, George Clooney, Drake, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Ryan Seacrest, Michael Strahan, Kelly Rowland, George Strait, Reese Witherspoon and other surprise guests.
The hour-long telethon will begin at 8 p.m. and can be seen at the REVOLT TV Facebook page, as well as on YouTube below. It will also air on TV on NBC, CBS, BET, Bravo, CMT, E!, Fox, HBO, iHeart Media, MTV, Oxygen, SiriusXM, Univision and Westwood One, and online on Facebook, AOL, Apple Music, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Beats 1 and Huffington Post.
According to Rolling Stone, proceeds from the fundraising efforts will go toward following charities: Rebuild Texas Fund, ASPCA, Best Friends, Direct Relief, Feeding Texas, Feeding Florida, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children and United Way.
