J. Cole’s Dreamville imprint has officially extended its roster, most recently welcoming Atlanta duo EarthGang to the team.
DJ Drama previously hinted that the group may be signed to the celebrated emcee’s record label and now the pair, composed of members Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot, has taken to Instagram to confirm the news to be true.

Accompanying the announcement was a clip dating back to 2015, with the archival footage featuring somewhat of a foreshadowing speech from Cole, where the label boss can be heard explaining why he feels EarthGang brings an important perspective to Atlanta’s ever-evolving music scene.
“When n—-s think about Atlanta, they think about super trap s–t,” Cole can be heard saying. “They think about Future… and Future is the god right now in that world, in that lane, but it’s like… them kids you seen at that show tonight? Them 3,000 kids, and then there was thousands more that didn’t make it in, they actually relate more to y’all.”
Two years later and Cole himself is helping provide EarthGang with an appropriate platform for them to push their music and their message. Talk about speaking things into existence.
EarthGang, whose members also are part of the Spillage Village crew along with fellow Dreamville signee J.I.D, made their formal debut at midnight (September 1) with the release of their EP, Rags.
