After Frank Ocean resurfaced with the Endless and Blonde albums last year, fans were excited to see him hit the road on the festival circuit in 2017. But this week, the elusive singer/songwriter canceled his second festival gig of the year.
Frank has canceled his performance at the upcoming Hangout Festival on May 19 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. “Due to production delays beyond his control Frank Ocean will be unable to perform,” festival representatives said in a statement. “He passes on his apologies & hopes to return to AL soon.” Frank used a similar statement when he canceled his performance at Sasquatch! Festival, which is on May 26 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington.
Pitchfork reports that representatives for WayHome, Northside, Flow, and Way Out Festivals still have Frank Ocean scheduled to perform. There aren’t any updates for his other scheduled appearances at Panorama Festival, Primavera Sound, and FYF.
Apart from his canceled festival appearances, Frank Ocean has been prolific musically in the new year. He has released several new songs – “Lens,” “Biking” featuring Jay Z and Tyler, the Creator, “Chanel,” and “Slide” with Calvin Harris and Migos – along with starting his own Blonded Radio show on Beats 1.
