Khalid has had a banner year, and he’s getting handsomely rewarded for it.

Following the release of his debut single “Location,” the Texas-repping teen followed up with “Saved,” “Shot Down,” and a collaboration with Alina Baraz (“Electric”) before finally dropping his freshman LP American Teen (and the title track’s visual). Since then, he’s launched his own headlining tour, won an MTV VMA for Best New Artist, nabbed a spot on the Day N Night 2017 line-up, shared new single “Young, Dumb & Broke” and SoundCloud one-off “Perfect,” and received major stamps of approval from his fellow artists in the form of collaborations with Calvin Harris, Logic Lorde, and Marshmello.

It wasn’t all for nothing. The singer’s debut LP has gone platinum, and he took to Instagram to share the news and his gratitude. Posting a photo of the RIAA certification, Khalid wrote:

“Earlier this year, I told myself that March 3rd was going to be the day that changed my life forever. 7 months later, American Teen is Platinum. Thank you guys so much for EVERYTHING! I love you guys! A debut album with NO features. LETS GOOOO 🕺🏾🎉”
