The new Black Panther trailer is here, and if you were excited by the previous teasers, add in an exclamation and think again.
Directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station), the latest trailer for the superhero flick is light on dialogue and heavy on action. We find our hero T’Challa (played by Chadwick Boseman) returning to his home of Wakanda – which is visually expanded in the new teaser – where he is met with political drama, coups, and attempts on his life. All in all, it’s an ill 2 minutes-and-19 seconds spent.
Besides the explosive reveal, the trailer also features a pair of fitting soundtracks. The first comes courtesy of Vince Staples with Big Fish Theory‘s “BagBak,” which gets shifted into Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.”. So far, besides the film, the soundtrack is already shaping up to be special. The film’s last trailer featured Run the Jewels’ “Legend Has It.”
“Black Panther” hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
